December 7, 2023 – Independent Bankers Capital Fund IV, L.P. (“IBC Fund IV”) is pleased to announce its investment in Longmont, Colorado based SmartLab Acquisition, LLC (“SmartLab”). SmartLab is a rapidly growing tech-enabled education company that designs and delivers turnkey project-based learning environments with a STEM (“Science, Technology, Engineering, Math”) focus. SmartLab’s learning environments bundle a customized environment, curated kits and equipment, proprietary SaaS curriculum, professional development, and technical support into a single solution.
IBCF co-invested in the SmartLab transaction alongside Siguler Guff, a New York-based private equity & credit fund with offices across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. The SmartLab transaction was led by Exeter Street Capital Partners, a Baltimore-based independent private equity sponsor.
